Access To Education & Opportunity

Join our journey addressing the
stigma of mental health one education at a time

Education is not separate from mental health. It is the foundation of it. When a child learns to read, they gain agency, stability, and a future they can see clearly.

Would You Assist Today?

Our goal with Forum Mindset

As a nonprofit we create access to education because education is where wellness begins

Access to Teachers & Tools

More than 600,000 Haitian children and youth are out of school and either illiterate or functionally illiterate. Roughly 75% of teachers lack adequate training.

Education as Mental Health

Research shows higher educational attainment is causally linked to lower rates of depression and anxiety. Schooling is a proven public health strategy.

Community Forums

No single donor solves this. We build coalitions here and in Haiti so that every dollar is directed by people who live in the communities we serve.

Why is education important?

Education is for you, for us, for everyone!

Education provided by trained teachers in a supported classroom can change the trajectory of a life, a family, and a community. It is the most reliable predictor of employment, income, health, and long-term wellbeing.

  • relief from the instability and hopelessness that drive depression and anxiety
  • stronger decision-making, emotional regulation, and problem-solving skills
  • increased confidence, independence, and the ability to manage stress effectively

Who we serve

Meet the student we are here for

She is between six and twelve years old. She lives in a rural community outside Port-au-Prince. Her family spends close to 40% of their income on school costs, and in most years, that math does not work.

If she starts primary school, there is a 30% chance she will not reach third grade and a 60% chance she will leave before sixth. Not because she cannot learn. Because a backpack, a notebook, and a trained teacher were out of reach.

We are here so that the math works. So she stays. So she finishes.

Our work

Four ways we create access

01

Backpacks & School Supplies

Started in 2025 and continuing every year. Each backpack includes notebooks, pencils, crayons, and a pair of socks. Forty were distributed in our first year.

02

Teacher Support

Roughly 75% of Haitian teachers lack formal training, and many go unpaid for months. We direct funds toward teacher salaries and training.

03

Daily Meals

A child who is hungry cannot learn. Working alongside partners on the ground, we help fund one guaranteed meal per school day.

04

Women's Micro-Business Fund

Startup capital for women in Haiti with a pay-it-forward structure. When a mother earns, her children stay in school.
